Why did we make that choice?
Tropez needed to hit a very specific balance: coastal and fresh without drifting into “beachy,” and premium without feeling stiff. Our strategy pulled from the French Riviera and modern editorial design to create an identity that feels elevated, current, and intentionally curated.
We built the system around contrast. A refined, high-contrast serif wordmark sets the tone for luxury, while the hand-drawn oyster illustrations introduce texture and personality. The rough, sketch-like edges keep the brand from feeling overly polished or generic, and they pair naturally with the editorial typography. We also created a flexible logo suite for real-world use across signage, menus, and packaging, including a variation that places the oyster icon inside the “O” for a distinctive, ownable brand stamp.
To reinforce the premium positioning, supporting marks were designed with symmetry and balance, signaling intention and quality at a glance. The color palette carries the same duality: airy coastal blues and butter yellow for lightness, anchored by a deep burgundy for evening elegance. Textures like velvet and pearl add depth and a sensory tie-back to oysters, helping the brand feel dimensional across print and digital.

The final identity delivers a modern coastal look with editorial credibility. The typography and symmetrical submarks communicate premium quality, while the hand-drawn oyster elements add character and craft. A versatile logo suite and layered color + texture system give Tropez consistent recognition across touchpoints, from storefront applications to menus and branded collateral, with a vibe that feels elevated, fresh, and unmistakably theirs.
